The three-day event will feature exhibits of masterful quilts in a variety of styles, as well as classes and live presentations led by experts from the artform and industry. This year’s quilt show uses the theme “There’s No Place Like Home,” with the top-judged quilts receiving cash prizes. Categories include Best in Show, Merit Quilted, Judge’s Choice, and Viewer’s Choice. There will also be a Junior Contest and Mini Quilt Auction to let everyone show off their skills.
A full day of workshops has been put together on the day before the Expo opens for those dedicated to their craft. Promotional material explains the purpose of the festival as:
“…to bring inspiration, motivation, education, shopping, and personal satisfaction to those passionate about sewing, quiltmaking, embroidery, embellishment, and related needle arts.”
The Expo will feature a Texas-sized show floor full of vendors and artisans offering quilts, sewing materials, and other quilt projects. Vendors at events like this often offer special Promotional Products or discounts to help make connections with new customers.
The 2025 Original Sewing & Quilt Expo and North Texas Quilt Festival will take place from Thursday, July 31 to Saturday, August 2 at the Irving Convention Center at Las Colinas.
