Popular vocalist to visit Irving

One of Latin America's best-selling artists plans to appear in Irving in the near future.

Cristian Castro is originally from Mexico City, and is an actor as well as a pop singer. He was 18 when he began singing professionally and released his album “Agua Nueva.” In 1993, he began to increase his fan base internationally by giving several concerts in Puerto Rico. “Un Segunda En El Tiempo,” his second album, featured a song called “Puerto Rico,” which he dedicated to the island. In 1993, the Lo Nuestro Awards nominated him for Pop New Artist of the Year. That was also the year in which he hit the top chart spot for the first time, with “Nunca Voy a Olvidarte” (“I Will Never Forget You”) going to No. 1 on Hot Latin Tracks.

His biggest successes thus far have been with BMG, which released his album “Lo Mejor De Mi,” which won a nomination as Best Latin Pop Album of the Year. His 1999 release, “Mi Vida Sin Tu Amor,” spawned four singles that climbed into the top ten on the Billboard Hot Latin Tracks chart. Since then he has continued building his fanbase.

A review says:

“He was awesome. Incredible voice, incredible energy . . . I will see him again and again if I get the chance!”

Castro will be at the Toyota Music Factory in Irving on February 14, at 7:00 pm. Poster printing is frequently used to publicize this type of event.
