Irving to welcome new restaurant in early 2018

Whiskey Cake, a restaurant well established in its Plano location, plans to open a second restaurant in Irving, in the Las Colinas area.

This part of the city is already home to new businesses like Pinstack (a dining and entertainment complex) and India 101 (an upscale Indian restaurant). Whiskey Cake is not completely new to Irving; The Ranch at Las Colinas, a sister establishment, has been operating here for years.

The menu planned for the Irving location will be nearly the same as that served in Plano, as will the meals. The eatery will not serve breakfast, but instead offer dinner, lunch, and brunch every day. Among the popular offerings are pork belly sliders known as ‘3 Little Pigs’ and the ‘OMG Burger’, which has a gigantic onion ring on top, along with muenster cheese and cremini mushrooms.. The most popular item on the menu appears to be the whiskey cake for which the restaurant is named. The cake is a sticky toffee torte served warm, with spiced pecans, bourbon sauce, and whipped cream.

The restaurant prides itself on sourcing as many of its ingredients as possible locally, a trend it intends to continue in Irving. Company officials say they hope to have the Irving location open by March 2018.
