Irving Animal Services and the DFW Humane Society are partnering to hold a special event that will help animals find their forever homes by reducing the fees to adopt a pet.
For one day only, IAS will offer animal adoptions for $20. Adoption fees regularly run from $70 to $100.
The animals that will be available for adoption will be up to date on their vaccinations. If they are four months old or older, they will have had their rabies shot too. They will also be neutered or spayed, and given a dewormer and a treatment to prevent fleas. They will have had microchips implanted, and the number registered with 24 PetWatch, a company that keeps a database of microchips, and can help reunite a lost pet with an owner. Dogs six months old and older will have been given a test for heartworm, and cats will be tested for FeLV and FIV.
People who have a valid email address will be given 30 days of pet insurance from 24PetWatch, and everyone will receive samples of appropriate food from Hill’s Science Diet.
The low-priced adoptions are this Saturday, March 17, from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm. They will be held on the Irving Animal Care Campus on Valley View Lane. Residents may make a donation to the facility as well.
On occasions like this, organizers might want to work with a flyer printing company to create informational sheets about the adoptable animals.
