The 2024 DFW Fiber Fest will be held in Irving this September, bringing with it a wonderful web of fiber crafting fun and activities for all fiber enthusiasts.
The Fiber Fest was conceived in 2005 to support the crocheting, knitting, and spinning community of the Dallas-Fort Worth area, a traditionally underserved area area. The first festival was held in 2006 in Addison, Texas, and its continued growth led it to being held in the Irving Convention Center in 2014.
The fest typically features education workshops staffed by nationally and internationally renowned fiber experts and a large vendor hall, which presents a range of fiber vendors offering many raw and unprocessed fibers, yarn, and supplies that attendees may not be able to access in their area. The September event will feature workshops such as Advanced Beginner Double-Knitting, The Science of Washing Fiber, and Art of Knitting Dragon Scales. The vendor list consists of The 100th Sheep, A Chick That Knitz, Bashful Armadillo Fibers, and many more.
Conventions like this will often offer attendees printed schedules that detail the activities of the event. Organizers can seek out local printing services to help them prepare such materials.
The DFW Fiber Fest is slated for September 20 through September 22. The Irving Convention Center is located at 500 Las Colinas Boulevard. A full weekend pass is $10, while each individual day is $5.
