Irving photography workshop to teach lighting techniques

Professional photographer Darnell Porter will lead the Irving Studio Lighting Class next month to teach lighting techniques using multiple lights in a studio.

Darnell Porter is a nationally-recognized photographer and videographer who owns the ShotByDPorter studio, which creates visual content for a variety of different clients. Porter also provides photography e-courses and in-person workshops.

The Studio Lighting Class is designed for both novice photographers who are only used to working with continuous lighting as well as more experienced photographers who only work with natural light. The class will teach students how to utilize a three-light setup to take photos that pop with color. Attendees will learn how to position their models, how to do headshots, and how to set their ISO, shutter, speed, and aperture.

Attendees will be working with professional models for the class and will be able to include the photos taken in their own portfolio. A Q&A session will also be offered at the end of the class.

Workshops are often advertised through flyer distribution in areas such as libraries and community centers. Organizers can Print these Flyers in bulk at local flyer printing shops.

The workshop is scheduled for September 11 from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm. It will take place at The Photo Factory LLC on 350 South Belt Line Road, Suite 104. Tickets range from $299.99 to $349.99.
