Irving’s The Ginger Man pub will host the annual Dangerfield Day at The Ginger Man to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day and pay homage to the bar’s founding.
Dangerfield Day is a celebration of the creation of the pub’s name, which is based on a lively character from J.P. Donleavy's 1952 novel, "The Ginger Man.” The character of Dangerfield’s adventurous spirit mirrored the owner’s own wild heart, a connection that became a part of the soul of the pub. Now, Dangerfield Day is celebrated at The Ginger Man to commemorate this memory as well as partake in St. Patrick’s Day festivities.
The event will feature Irish libations, such as specialty cocktails and Irish beer, and traditional Irish cuisine that will have attendees toasting until the wee hours of the morning. There will be lively music from the band indie rock band She, and fun activities such as a shamrock hunt, bingo, a costume contest, and leprechaun hat challenge.
