Next month, Shopblackmarket.co will host the D.A.M. Con 2023 near Irving, which will be the DFW area’s first tokusatsu and kaiju convention.
Shopblack market.co is an online store centered around providing what is usually expensive Japanese imports at an affordable price. The company also organizes pop-up events to sell its products in person around the North Texas area. These pop-ups typically focus on items such as toys and other merchandise relating to kaiju, giant monster fiction like Godzilla, and tokusatsu, live action TV series that feature special effects.
The convention is expecting a turnout of over 1,000 attendees hailing from all parts of Texas and the surrounding states. There will be a curated vendors hall contains a myriad of unique vendor booths selling toys, apparel, art, and more relating to characters and themes from kaiju and tokusatsu genres. There will also be a special guest appearance, Daniel Van Thomas, who is the English voice actor of Ultraman Zero, a tokusatsu TV series.

The convention is scheduled for November 4 from 12:00 pm to 7:00pm. It will take place at Four Corners Brewing Company, which is located at 1311 South Ervay Street Dallas, just a short distance from Irving.
