Expo to bring oddities to Irving

A new event will be heading to Irving this February, as the World Oddities Expo aims to bring all types of weird and bizarre performers and products to town.

The one-day event will feature stunt and circus performers as well as live music, on-stage painting, and more. The exposition also focuses on unique hobbies, with participatory classes on rat taxidermy, butterfly pinning, and diorama terrarium. There will be a “Cabinet of Curiosities” market area featuring goods relating to these hobbies as well as other niches, including gothic-inspired art, jewelry and home decor. Guest speakers in various macabre disciplines will also give presentations as part of the WOE Theater program.

For those looking for a more permanent souvenir, there will be an Oddity Ink Parlour, with tattoo artists gathered from across Texas and beyond available to work on site. The show is part of the World Oddities Expo tour which travels across the country, with other stops including San Antonio and Kansas City. This will be the first edition held in Irving. Events like this often use eye-catching poster printing and social media to help attract lovers of the weird and creepy. Promotional material describes the event as being part of a “Weird” community:

“This isn’t just an expo; it’s an experience, and you’re part of it. So go ahead, hit that purchase button, and get ready to join a community of people who celebrate the strange, the wonderful, and the weird.”

The Irving edition of the World Oddities Expo will take place on February 2025 at the Irving Convention Center.
