Perot Development Company recently announced it is planning a huge industrial park in Irving, on State Highway 161. The park will comprise close to 200 acres, and feature four buildings that total a square footage of approximately 2.4 million square feet.
Perot Development and the DFW Airport board have signed a lease that will enable Perot to start the project. The biggest building will offer over 1.4 million square feet; the buildings are to be distribution centers.
Pat Perot, CEO of Perot Development said the company was excited to add these additional e-commerce facilities to the Logistics Centers it has already developed in the vicinity of the airport, which is an economic driver for the region. Growth in the area has made logistics facilities that are state-of-the-art greatly desirable.
The proposed business park will be located beside the DART Orange Line; the DART Belt Line Station is across the freeway. Developers of projects like this could use flyer printing to create informational sheets about the buildings.
In the past fifteen years, Perot Development has built about six million square feet of space for industrial use in Houston and North Texas. Approximately 2.5 million square feet of that total has been at the airport's north end. Two of the buildings that will be going up in this latest effort will be leased to Amazon, and each has nearly one million square feet of space.
