There is great news for Irving, Texas-based fans of speculative fiction, particularly that aimed at teen and young adult readers, as the North Texas Teen Book Festival 2017 has now been scheduled for spring.
According to the Dallas News, the list of authors who will be attending reads like a who's who of bestselling writers, and includes the creators of some of today's most popular series.
Among the attendees are R.L. Stine, who writes the ‘Goosebumps’ series, and has been described as a ‘Stephen King gateway drug’. Stine is arguably the biggest name of the 81 authors currently listed as attending the event. Other famous names include Veronica Roth, author of the ‘Divergent’ series, and Maggie Stiefvater, who has created the ‘Raven Cycle’ series.
The event starts with keynote speakers at 8:30 am. Authors will participate in panel discussions during the day, and the event winds up with a final speaker. Writers will sign their works starting at 3:30 pm, and will autograph up to three books for each person.
There's a $5 parking charge, but the event itself is free. The festival is scheduled for March 4, from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm, at the Irving Convention Center on Las Colinas Boulevard.
