Award-winning singer/songwriter coming to Irving

His breakthrough hit took everyone by surprise, including the singer, and now he's coming to Irving.

British-born David Gray released his debut album in 1993, but it wasn't until six years later, when “White Ladder” came out, that he began to have success. The album contained the single “Babylon,” which was a smash hit on its own, and propelled the album to over three million sales.

“White Ladder” was Gray's fourth album, but while the first three featured his alternative rock and acoustic folk sounds, this album brought his “folktronic” sound to the front, and it has since become his trademark. Generally considered to be electronic music applied to folk melodies, the new sound sent “White Ladder” onto the UK Albums chart, where it made it to No. 1 after 66 weeks in the listings. It remained on the chart for a total of 151 weeks.

A review of a live concert says:

“It brought tears to my eyes. He has a fantastic voice. His voice and lyrics are magical.”

Gray describes his experience with “White Ladder” as “life changing,” and plans to perform the entire album at his upcoming concert. He will be bringing his "White Ladder: The 20th Anniversary Tour" to the Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory on August 7, from 8.00 pm until 11.00 pm. Poster printing is an outstanding method to use to create attractive advertisements for this type of evening.
