Pei Wei, the chain of fast-casual Asian restaurants, is moving its headquarters to Irving, and recently leased space in the Las Colinas area of the city for its offices.
The company is moving from Scottsdale, Arizona, and taking over space in the Las Colinas Highlands Tower on North State Highway 161. The space offers over 16,000 square feet in one of the hottest real estate markets in the area.
Paul Whitman, who is with JLL, a commercial realtor, said Pei Wei is making a huge investment in both North Texas and its company, but the move makes sense. The Dallas/Fort Worth area is one of the most economically stable and fastest growing areas in the country, and it is also home to the greatest number of Pei Wei storefronts in the nation.
He added that Texas is business-friendly, and offers a pool of qualified workers and resources that are aligned with Pei Wei's plans for its future. He noted that JLL helped bring Pei Wei to Irving, and was happy to have been part of the effort.
Pei Wei will employ about 100 people in its new office, and Irving has agreed to provide economic incentives of as much as $75,000 to the company for its relocation.
