The much-acclaimed Discover Dance will take place in early spring in Houston. A six-hour international dance festival, it will be a highly interactive event.
Locals of all ages will have the opportunity to enjoy more than 50 multicultural dance groups. Various dance genres are offered, including Chinese, swing, ballet, tango, tap, and African.
Dance Houston presents several events like Discover Dance every year. The mission is to increase appreciation of dance in Houston, and raising awareness through the various activities is a main goal.
Attendees can participate in 10-minute mini-lessons presented at the top of each hour. KHOU’s Courtney Perna will be the emcee positioned on the main stage. The free event is open to everyone with a love for dancing, and welcomes singles, couples, and kids presenting a chance for everybody to learn to dance together.
Sponsoring companies include the Texas Commission on the Arts, Discovery Green, Houston Endowment Inc., Google, and Houston Arts Alliance. Local Print companies are available to handle poster printing and other materials necessary to promote and manage the event. Sponsorships beginning at $50 are available for this festival.
