Houston educators offered spots in Avian Academy

Houston is proud to be home to one of Texas’s top bird sanctuaries, and the city’s educators have been offered the opportunity to learn how they can bring some high flying fun into their classrooms.

The Edith L Moore Nature Sanctuary is preparing to welcome its Avian Academy, which will be offered by Houston Audubon. Its listing explained that it has been designed so that the information shared is suitable for classes from kindergarten to grade 12, and CPE credits or Master Naturalist ATs will be provided upon completion.

The program will introduce the registrants to the Flying Wild curriculum, and this will include an introduction to birding from Houston Audubon. It will be a melding of science and art, and the materials and information can be adapted for different learners. Its limited number of spaces are expected to fill quickly, and anyone interested needs to sign up in advance. The activity will run for five hours.

A workshop or information session gives educators a time when they can pick up some new information and skills. Packages of learning materials that include promotional Pens and handouts prepared by a brochure printing company may be distributed during these events.

Avian Academy will see Houston’s teachers return to the classroom on June 11th. It will run from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm at 440 Wilchester Boulevard .
