Festival will attract quilters from around the country

The International Quilt Festival is taking place in Houston next month for four days.

This popular event attracts approximately 60,000 people every year. There is expected to be over 1,500 quilts, textiles and wearable art on display. There will also be 1,100 vendor booths that will be selling related items such as quilts, sewing notions, patterns, machines and supplies in addition to handmade arts and crafts.

The festival will also have a large choice of classes to take, and they will begin four days before the event begins. Some of the topics will be stitched paintings, practical longarm quilting, machine quilting and simple thread painting, and some of the classes will run for two days. Prices range from $103 up to $258, and all supplies are included. Other activities include a tour of the Texas Quilt Museum and area quilt shops.

For those who want an early look, there will be a preview night on November 2 from 7:00 to 10:00 PM. Tickets are $12 and include a day’s admission to the festival.

It is likely that in order to advertise this event in the Houston area, organizers may invest in brochure printing services.

The International Quilt Festival will be held at the George R. Brown Convention Center from November 3 to 6. Tickets are $12 for adults and $9 for seniors and students, and four-day passes are available for $42. Call 713-781-6864 for more information.
