Annual quilt festival returns to Houston

The International Quilt Festival is returning to the city for four days beginning on Halloween. A preview night will be held on October 30.

There are expected to be over 1,700 quilts on display, many of which will also be available for purchase. There will be textile art, themed quilt exhibitions, and shopping booths. Vendors will be selling everything related to quilting including patterns, thread, needles and finished quilts.

The festival will also offer over 550 classes that are set to begin two days before the festival. Classes will be available for all skills. In addition, several local tours will take place to the Texas Quilt Museum.

There will be luncheons and lectures by guests such as Katrina Walker, Cindy Grisdela and Hollis Chatelain. Visitors will also have the opportunity to learn quilting secrets from the various exhibitors.

Challenges will also be available to registered participants. This year two of them are the Bob Ross Cherrywood Challenge and the Trash to Treasure Pineapple Challenge. Houston printing services companies are often asked to provide tickets, Flyers, and various advertising materials for events such as this.

The festival will be held at the George R. Brown Convention Center from October 31 until November 3; classes begin on October 28. Tickets are $15 for adults and $12 for seniors and students. A full four-day pass is $50. To learn more about this event, call 713-781-6864.
