Houston workshop sharpens knife skills

Knowing how to properly use and care for cutting tools can be an important step in kitchen safety, and a Houston workshop will equip its attendees with these skills.

Experienced home chefs and newbies alike may find that being part of the “Sharpen Your Knife Skills” class scheduled for Central Market Cooking School in Houston is a helpful experience. It will include hands-on practice, and it's for those age 18 and up only.

The facilitator for the session will discuss the characteristics to look for in a well-made knife as well as how to care for it so it is sharp and ready to use. Everyone will have the chance to get in lots of practice with proper hand positioning as they chop, dice, peel, slice and julienne, and the fruits of the labor will be transformed into a meal by the instructors. A glass of wine will be served with their food.

It's been said that it's never too late for an old dog to learn some new tricks, and a workshop offers people the opportunity to pick up skills in a fun environment. Custom designed documents such as Letterheads, safety waivers and vendor contracts can be prepared for a business by Stationery printers.

This chance for home chefs of all experience levels to sharpen their knife skills will take place on April 4th. It will be held at 3815 Westheimer Road Houston.
