The attendees in an upcoming Houston activity will find out how easy and satisfying it can be to grow their own food.
Whether they have a garden plot, a balcony planter, or just a pot on a sunny windowsill, the Rooted in Flavor workshop hosted by Your Urban Farm will help those who are new to home horticulture to get their feet wet. It will run for two hours, and all community members are welcome.
The activity will open with a welcoming circle, followed by a hands-on planting activity where the participants will learn how to plant both herbs and vegetables. A tour of the venue’s garden will be included, and everyone will receive tips for living a more sustainable lifestyle. A tasting session and community lunch is on the agenda, and everyone will go home with some seedlings they planted themselves, as well as grow Bags.
Home horticulture is a hobby almost anyone can enjoy, and a workshop can help both newbies and experienced planters up their gardening game. Local Print shops can prepare themed promotional products to hand out to the attendees in a learning activity.
Saturday, October 11 has been set as the date for this interactive session, and it will begin at 9:30 am. The location will be 3223 Blodgett Street, and tickets can be reserved free of charge.
