Houston pop-up brings plants to the people

Green thumbs know that fall can be a great time of the year to plant shrubs, trees and perennials, and a pop-up style activity will connect residents of Houston and the surrounding areas with plants to fill their beds and borders.

The Natives Nursery Fall Plant Sale is right around the corner, and the shoppers at the function will find lots of native species to choose from. It can be an opportunity to fill in space in an existing planting or create a whole new one, and there will be a special perk available that makes the event special.

During the sale, there will be volunteers on site to answer questions and offer advice, and anyone who would like tips for specific outdoor space may want to bring along several photos taken at different times during the day. There will also be helpers on hand to carry plants out to people’s vehicles, and parking will be available in the church lot. The plants on offer will all have a local provenance.

Autumn events can range from plant sales to outdoor movie nights, fall festivals and more. Organizers of an activity can count on local poster printing companies to supply them with budget-friendly marketing materials to help spread the word about an upcoming event.

This special opportunity for Houston home horticulturalists to purchase native plants will be popping up at 440 Wilchester Boulevard in Houston on October 17th. It will open to the public at 8:00 am.
