Houston vets to take pride of place for local luncheon

The city’s veterans will be front and center during a fundraiser that has become a tradition, hosted by Houston West Chamber of Commerce.

The organization will once again be welcoming the public for its Salute to Veterans Luncheon, which will offer a tip of the hat to area vets. The theme for this year includes both the anniversary of 9/11 and Pearl Harbor, and the men and women of the military will all be honored.

The guests at the function will be able to view an assortment of meaningful displays, and these include vintage vehicles, memorabilia, and the ringing of a navy bell. A live bagpiper will be on hand, and there will be a presentation of the Heart of Service award. Covid prevention measures are set to be in place, and while tickets for the general public are $50, veterans will be admitted free of charge to thank them for their service.

At a memorable function like this, programs, table cards for the guests of honor, Banners and other decor may all be obtained from area poster printing companies.

This luncheon, which will both recognize local veterans and remember those who can no longer be here to celebrate in person, will take place on October 29. The West Houston Institute will be the location.
