Houston to hold pop-up plant event

Every fall, seed and bulb houses across the country ship horticultural products out to their customers, and shoppers at an upcoming Houston horticultural market will find lots to choose from.

Bulbs ranging from the everyday to the exotic will be included in the Garden Club of Houston’s Bulb and Plant Mart, and the items available will include ones grown in the USA as well as further afield. Perennials, trees, shrubs, and other plants will also be on offer, and there will be items grown in gardens in and around the city, so they will have a local provenance.

People who take advantage of the opportunity will go home with bulbs for tulips, daffodils, crocuses, and other spring flowing favorites, and rare cultivars and hard-to-find species will be in the mix. A live butterfly tent GCH Conservation Booth and other exhibits will be on site, and the monies that are raised will be used by the garden club to fund its projects that help beautify and bring touch of nature into the city.

A pop-up market may benefit from having special corporate gifts prepared. These can include items such as printed cloth shopping totes, promotional pens, and plant tags.

The Garden Club of Houston will be hosting its Bulb and Plant Mart from October 13 to October 15. Anyone who would like to do some shopping at the sale can find it at 2450 River Oaks Boulevard.
