Houston teens to prepare potted plants

The Aldine Branch of the Houston Library system will soon be giving teens a time to meet and prepare a home for plants.

A plant can add a touch of life and beauty to a room, and this will be the primary focus of the upcoming Teen Make It! Program. The venue runs the program once a month, and in December, the attendees will be making custom potted plants. The Friends of the Aldine Branch Library group has provided financial support for the activity.

The participants will be using the materials supplied to them, including a hardy, easy-care plant, to prepare their project. They will receive instructions as well as tips for plant care, and with some TLC, their new plant will provide a touch of green during the coldest part of the year. The session is intended for those from ages 13 to 18 years of age

A local library often serves as a community hub, hosting workshops, classes and other opportunities to learn. A poster printing company can provide an assortment of inexpensive but effective ways of getting the word out about any upcoming events.

The Aldine Branch Library will be giving kids a chance to get growing on December 11th; it will begin at 3:30pm. If anybody wants more information about the event, the contact email for the organizer of the session is ald@hcpl.net.
