A call has gone out to Houston seeking support and helping hands for a project that will make sure everyone has food on their table to celebrate Thanksgiving.
The Landmark County Center will be the location for an activity organized by the American Caribbean Chamber of Commerce (ACCC). Kids may take part, although they must be at least 100lbs in weight due to the possibility of heavy lifting. The function will take place outside.
Volunteers will be lending a hand with unpacking the turkeys for distribution during the drive through event, and the helpers will also set the birds out and hand them to the recipients. Helping hands are also needed for the set-up and teardown of the tents for the vendors and community partners. As it will take place outside, everyone is reminded to check the weather when dressing for the day. Colleagues and other groups are welcome, and light refreshments will be available.
Many not-for-profit groups count on the generous spirit of volunteers to help make their projects a success. Promotional products to thank them for their hard work can be crafted by local Print shops.
Houston residents who would like to show some love to their neighbors in need are encouraged to register for this hands-on volunteer event. It is scheduled for Tuesday, November 26 at the Landmark Community Center, running from 9:00 am to noon.
