Fort Worth to teach students about financial literacy

The Fort Worth STEAM Academy will be visiting the Fort Worth Public Library to offer presentations on financial literacy.

Financial Literacy for Teens & Families is a series where middle and high schoolers can learn about important money-related topics. There are four sessions in the program that cover subjects including banking basics, identity protection, and how to create budgets. The family-friendly setting will offer guests complimentary school supplies, and food will be served at the presentations. The sessions will be held at the East Regional Branch of the library.

The Fort Worth STEAM Academy is an organization that was founded by Nicholas Ditto to help local students pursue careers in STEAM-related professions. Ditto is an experienced instructional coach and the founding principle of IDEA Rise College Prep. The academy offers advanced classes for students exceeding state standards and enrichment, consistent routines, and weekly celebrations to enhance learning experiences. People can support the organization by donating money or participating in the academy's online survey.

The lessons on financial literacy will be held on August 22nd, September 26th, October 24th, and November 21st. The classes will take place from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm. There is no general admission cost to join the program, though participants should register for the courses. Libraries can use poster printing to advertise similar educational programs to their patrons.
