Fort Worth to offer themed maker summer camp

The Welman Project will hold a children’s summer camp at the Dad’s Garage Makerspace in Fort Worth this June.

The Curiouser and Curiouser Summer Camp is a program where kids in grades 2-5 can participate in unique projects to help them unlock their wonder. Campers will get to build with reusable materials. They will also see interesting sights like a gravity-defying deck of cards and a garden of paintbrushes. The instructors at the camp will teach kids about the importance of creative reuse. Each camp session will last for three hours.

The Welman Project is an organization that helps local schools connect with nonprofit groups. The project also collects reusable materials from companies and distributes them to classrooms in need of supplies. The founders and executive directors of the group are Vanessa Barker and Taylor Willis. Many courses are offered at the organization’s makerspace, such as Printmaking Basics and Vintage Fabrics as a Creative Reuse Canvas. People can also book the space for private parties.

The summer camp will be from Monday, June 3rd to Friday, June 7th. The sessions are from 9:00 am to noon and will cost $250 per child. The Welman Project will also offer a camp for kids in grades 4-8 from June 10th to June 14th. Summer camps from organizations like this may be shared with more families by using printing services to make Flyers.
