Fort Worth museum to offer outdoors-themed activity

The Amon Carter Museum of American Art in Fort Worth will hold a family activity in July.

Into the Wild is an event where families can enjoy several themed activities throughout the art museum. The event is part of the Art Tales program and will include games in the museum gallery, storytime sessions, and an art-making activity with Anna Joy Pham. She is an artist and educator from Fort Worth whose work has been exhibited at events like the Mayfest Established Artist Show and the Black Balloon Collective Art Show. Food can be purchased from the Lucky G's food truck at the venue.

Brandi Waller-Pace will give a performance at the event that is inspired by the museum's adventurous outdoor art. Waller-Pace is an educator, musician, and writer who has been featured in publications such as The Illinois Music Educator Journal and the New York Times. She also created the Fort Worth African American Roots Music Festival. Waller-Pace was the headlining presenter for the Minnesota Music Educators Association Midwinter Convention.

The wilderness-themed event will take place on Wednesday, July 17th from 10:00 am to noon. There is no cost for the activity, though the organizers recommend that guests register in advance. An American Sign Language interpreter will be at the event to translate during the live performance. Museums in charge of kid-friendly programs like this may use poster printing to advertise their seasonal activities.
