Fort Worth function talks about healthy soils

The Fort Worth Botanic Garden serves as a reservoir for plant biodiversity, protecting at-risk species and educating the public, and has a workshop scheduled that may be of interest to local home gardeners.

The Soils for Gardeners class will be dishing the dirt on how this going medium is important for healthy plants. Knowing how to prepare soils and amend them to meet the needs of a particular species can lead to gardening success, and the attendees will walk away with this knowledge.

The presenter will introduce various processes that take place in the soil, including how the fungi and other microflora and fauna interact with plants. The tips should be helpful when gardening for flowers, foliage or food, and the registration fee includes admission to the Garden for the day so the learners can see in person the importance of healthy soil. The final date to register January 27th.

The listing for the activity explained that a lot of the materials needed will be provided. Stationery printers can supply event organizers with items such as Copies of handouts and other custom items to distribute to the attendees.

This chance for Fort Worth’s home gardeners to get the inside scoop on soil is scheduled for January 30th. It's for adults only, and tickets have been available online for $35.00 for members and $35.00 for non-members.
