Womens Foundation to hold annual awards dinner

Maura Women Helping Women and Young Leader Awards will be presented at the annual Dallas Women’s Foundation dinner next week.

The Omni Dallas Hotel will be the venue for the dinner and awards ceremony recognizing four women for their dedication helping women and girls accomplish their goals. According to Roslyn Dawson Thompson, president and CEO, the stories of honorees are an inspiration to all women.

The honorees are Dallas County’s top law enforcement officer Sheriff Lupe Valdez, the Texas Muslim Women’s Foundation’s executive director Hind El Saadi El Jarrah PhD, Dallas County’s 116th Civil District Court judge Tonya Parker, and TexProtects founding CEO Madeline McClure.

Wells Fargo & Company’s relationship manager Cynthia Nwaubani will receive the Young Leader Award from Capital One. The award will be both a feather in Nwaubani’s cap and an impressive line for any future custom Business Cards she has printed.

Carla Harris will be the featured speaker at the event, which will be co-chaired by Laura V. Estrada and Cheryl Alston. Harris is the author of two Books – Expect to Win and Strategies to Win – as well as a Morgan Stanley senior client adviser and vice chairman for the company’s global wealth management.

Tickets for the May 9 event will be available until this Sunday, May 7 and cost $150. For tickets, call 214-525-5315.
