Texas future bright for jobseekers

In Forbes’ ranking of the Best States for Business and Careers, Texas garnered the top spot for future job growth.

Coupled with its strong showing for current economic climate, the state was able to claim sixth place on the list.

Texas has added 2.1 million jobs, which accounts for 30% of the all the position added in the country and more than twice the number of any other state. According to data from Moody’s Analytics, everything points to the state continuing this trend.

Deemed the ‘Texas miracle’, the state’s growth shows no sign of abating, with 413,000 jobs created over the last 12 months. Although the Forbes article notes Governor Perry’s leadership in keeping a tight rein on Texas taxes and regulations, both he and the state have benefited from the energy market.

Dallas has played a large part in the state’s success. According to numbers released from the Paychex/HIS Small Business Jobs Index at the beginning of December, the city ranked first in the nation for small business growth for November. Dallas has held that rank for two months running and for five out of the last six.

The pro-business environment in Texas has led to its being home to 118 of the country’s largest companies. When combined with the continued growth of small businesses in Dallas, this creates a snowball effect, as Dallas printing companies gain new clients among those starting or relocating here.
