Chilangos Tacos, a fairly new concept developed by two former Mexico City residents, will be opening its second location in central Dallas, less than two miles from Deep Ellum.
Chilangos, a slang term for Mexico City residents, is from the team of restauranteurs Jon Garay and Joel Mendoza, who debuted their first Chilangos Tacos in 2019 near Dallas Love Field. The new location, the duos fourth, will be at the former Subway location at 4012 Ross Avenue. Other locations include a stand in Legacy Hall, in Plano, and a location inside Assembly Food Hall in Nashville.
A banner printing service can help those in proximity to a soon-to-open business know the opening date while building excitement for the new endeavor.
Diners at the new taqueria can expect authentic tacos and quesadillas and a variety of refreshing margaritas. La Costras Taco is the signature dish for Chilangos and is a grilled cheese variety of taco with fajita beef, and bacon served on a toasted flour tortilla with avocado and melted, grilled Monterey Jack cheese.
Garay and Mendoza were at the forefront in DFW of the now trendy birria taco. At Chilangos, the birria tacos are served either plain or with melted cheese. The birria tacos are available only on weekends.
A spokesperson for the restaurant chain said it will open possibly in June or sometime in early summer.
