New wine bar concept coming to Big D

Arizona-born Postino Wine Café, a wine bar concept developed by Upward Projects, will be opening its first Dallas location at 2647 Main St. in Deep Ellum.

Postino is Italian for postman. The name is explained by a former 1940s Phoenix post office became the first Postino location 19 years ago. At present, there are 13 Postino Cafés in Arizona, Texas and Colorado, including a couple in Houston. The chain’s success has been built on its prices, sharable items menu, and spacious patios.

The company is known for going into fun, hip neighborhoods and repurposing historically relevant structures to occupy. Lauren Bailey, co-founder and CEO of Postino, has stated that each of the chain’s sites is unique to the individual community and neighborhood in which it is located.

The Deep Ellum location will have inside seating for 110 customers and an outdoor patio with seating for 50. Lunch and dinner will be served daily during the week. The food menu will include soups, salads, panini, boards and bruschetta, most of which are designed for sharing. A weekend brunch will be available from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm Saturday and Sunday featuring $5 mimosas.

Print shops offer a range of Menus including disposable ones.

More than 30 wines will be available by the glass as well as a variety of Texas craft beers including from nearby BrainDead Brewing.

The Postino Wine Café expects to open its Deep Ellum location in Spring 2021.
