New high-rise development could be on the way for Dallas

The owner of a corner in Dallas’s high-profile Uptown area is hoping that its plan to construct an apartment tower at the location will be approved.

Greenway Investment, which owns the parcel of land that sits at the junction of Fairmount Street and Cedar Springs Road, would like to build a 320-unit high rise with 22 stories, as well as a parking garage on the site. This would stand behind a row of low-rise retail buildings.

The plan also calls for a second phase, which would include constructing office and retail spaces. A printing company can produce large, full-color Copies of the artists’ concept drawings of what the new residences will look like. These can be shown to city planners and other stakeholders when they decide whether or not to give their approval.

According to filings that have been made with the city, those structures that currently stand on the block, including an office building and others that house retail establishments, would be left as they are. One of the businesses housed in the existing office building is Good Fulton & Farrell Architects, which is the company that prepared the design for the apartment tower.

If approved, this new rental community will be one around 12 that have been either proposed or are already being built in the Uptown and downtown areas of the city.
