A live music venue in Deep Ellum, The Factory, has made the decision to return to its former name - the Bomb Factory - according to Ariana Hajibashi, the venue’s publicist.
The Dallas Morning News was told by Hajibashi that The Factory’s owners, Westdale Asset Management, purchased the name Bomb Factory from the venue’s former owners Clint and Whitney Barlow.
The business name-change to The Factory took place in 2021, after which social media accounts for Bomb Factory went dormant until returning to life in October last year.
The original Bomb Factory closed in the late 1990s only to be reopened in 2015 with an Erykah Badu headlined concert. The name disappeared a second time with the sale of the venue, which was then renamed The Factory. An official announcement of the most recent resurrection of the Bomb Factory name is planned soon with a party to celebrate it in April.
Venues often rely on banner printing services to help with promoting their events.
The Bomb Factory’s return has been hinted at for some time, with a recent Factory in Deep Ellum Facebook post showing an image in black-and-white of an explosive. The Bomb Factory’s Facebook page has come back to life as well, with a resumption of activity.
Additionally, The Factory’s sister venue next door, The Studio at the Factory, has undergone a name change on its Instagram account and is now The Studio at the Bomb Factory.
