The Lown Institute, a think tank in Brookline, Massachusetts, has divulged its Lown Institute Hospitals Index, whereby value of care, civic leadership and patient outcomes are evaluated. The Parkland Health and Hospital System of Dallas was ranked No. 10 overall out of the 3,000 U.S. hospitals assessed.
Parkland was graded A+ for value of care, A+ in civic leadership (which includes access and inclusion), and a B for safety and satisfaction in patient outcomes. When combined, the hospital was awarded an overall grade of A+. The release issued by the institute explained that the study was aimed at holding hospitals accountable for several success factors.
Courting donors is a never-ending job for hospitals and a public endorsement of quality from a respected source is something a banner printing service will often be called upon to help advertise.
According to a release from Lown Institute Senior Vice President Shannon Brownlee:
“No other hospital ranking provides a 360-degree view of hospital performance.”
Dallas is joined by three other Texas hospitals in the Institute top 10 in the nation: At No.1 Fort Worth’s JPS Health Network, at No.4 Austin’s Seton Northwest Hospital, and at No.9 Houston's Memorial Hermann Texas Medical Center.
