The upcoming Deep Ellum Music Festival will be a continuation of District’s yearlong 150th anniversary celebration and will be hosted by Tashara Parker of WFAA, featuring special guests throughout the day.
Banner printing services are often involved in the promotion of area events, particularly those that are to be held outside in a public area.
The free, family-friendly celebration will be headlined by the group Bowling For Soup. Frontman Jaret Reddick explained that although formed in Wichita Falls, the rock band played many a gig in Deep Ellum in their early days. He said:
“Honestly, when I think of Deep Ellum, it is pretty much the same as thinking about home.”
Also, on the ticket will be Run-D.M.C.’s Reverend Run and Doug E. Fresh who will be hosting their own 50th anniversary celebration of the hip-hop genre during the festival.
Considered Dallas’ Entertainment District, Deep Ellum was recently recognized as a historic district by the National Register of Historic Places. The organizers of Deep Ellum’s anniversary celebration also unveiled a new community center featuring a permanent exhibition entitled “When You Go Down in Deep Ellum.”
The Deep Ellum Music Festival will take place at the corner of Good Latimer Expressway and Main Street on November 18 from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
