Not here yet, but waiting in the wings, is a brick-and-mortar version of the food truck Basic Taco to operate out of a historic Deep Ellum gas station from the 1940s.
Although Business Cards can be used by companies without a specific physical location, having a street address makes business card printing even more useful for a business.
Basic Taco’s founder, Joel Roland, is also the restaurateur responsible for Real Nice Place, a downtown Dallas upbeat breakfast-and-lunch spot that in early 2019 served breakfast tacos. Originally, Basic Taco operated as a popular Deep Ellum food truck that visited locations such as Bottled Blonde, The Nines, and Deep Ellum Brewing.
According to Roland, Basic Taco will feature a limited menu with four basic street tacos that includes an all veggie taco, as well as a few “gourmet tacos” such as smoked brisket and shrimp tacos. Also on the menu will be burritos, a twist on the quesadilla, and salads.
Inside the former gas station will also be a small, hidden tequila bar called Yellow Rosa. This will have a Latino-themed speakeasy atmosphere, and is designed to be a private pre-party spot.
The opening is planned for Winter 2019 and Basic Taco will absolutely be doing late-night hours, with 3:00 am being the closing time on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
