An annual Cowboys tradition was upheld in Dallas and Fort Worth as the team served a Thanksgiving dinner at Metroplex-area Salvation Army facilities last Monday.
In the Dallas area, Cowboys veterans, along with their families, visited the needy while the rookie class of the Cowboys’ organization did the same in Fort Worth. Despite the team’s seven consecutive losses this season, and a 10-6 defeat handed to them by Tampa Bay the afternoon before, the players put aside their frustration and greeted their guests with smiles. Memebers of the crowd were also happy for a chance to interact with their favorite players.
Pro Bowl quarterback for the Cowboys, Tony Romo, was the biggest attraction. Romo, who has been on the short-term injured reserve list for eight-weeks, will be eligible to regain his spot on the roster this week, which was not news to those in attendance. Romo posed for pictures, signed autographs, and shook hands, in addition to dishing up Thanksgiving dinner with his son Hawkins and wife Candice.
