The winter holiday season at the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden has already been raising spirits with the outside ‘The 12 Days of Christmas’ exhibit, and will soon add the DeGolyer House indoor exhibition ‘The Nutcracker Suite’.
Starting earlier this month, ‘Holiday at the Arboretum’ began offering day and night holiday exhibits for both Dallas Arboretum members and nonmembers. On the day after Thanksgiving ‘The Nutcracker Suite’ holiday exhibit at the historic DeGolyer House will add to the holiday cheer.
The popular exhibit ‘The 12 Days of Christmas’ has returned, and this outside display, when viewed at night, lights up the garden with over 500,000 bulbs. Daytime exhibit hours are 9:00 am – 5:00 pm through January 7. The night-time exhibit is 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm Wednesdays – Sunday through December 30, plus November 20-21 and December 18-19 (Monday and Tuesdays). Excluded will be Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day.
The Nutcracker Suite will take up various rooms of the historic DeGolyer House, with over 800 nutcrackers scattered through rooms decorated as scenes from the ballet. The exhibition will be open daily 10:00 am – 4:00 pm November 24 through January 7, and Wednesday evenings 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm November 29 through December 27.
While there, guests can check out any Brochures or Flyers available to learn more about upcoming exhibits and events and consider membership. All exhibits are free to members, while tickets cost $10-$15 for nonmembers over two years of age.
