Deep Ellum welcomes newest entertainment concept

The always interesting and changing Deep Ellum neighborhood will soon have its own axe-throwing entertainment venue, called Whiskey Hatchet.

A spin-off of the Chops + Hops Axe Throwing Lodge of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Whiskey Hatchet will also offer food and a variety of drinks. The chosen location is a warehouse south of Canton Street at 2801 Virgil Street. The opening is set for some time in late spring or early summer.

The original Florida establishment was founded by entrepreneurs Chase Walton, Ryan Lavernia and Clay Rusch, who upon opening in 2019 aspired to build on the concept by offering a full range of liquor options with a focus on craft beer and craft cocktails. They additionally offered live music, local artisan pop-up shops, and a rotating selection of food trucks.

According to Rusch, they renamed their concept Whiskey Hatchet as part of their plans to go nationwide. An announcement of other location openings will be coming this spring.

New establishments, especially those that have plans for expansion, view Logo Design as a vital component for the future success of their venture.

Whiskey Hatchet will join other combo entertainment concepts such as Punch Bowl Social and Upstairs Circus.

The new-hatchet throwing fun spot will be competing against Bad Axe of East Dallas, Irving’s Stumpy’s Hatchet House, Fort Worth’s Flying Axe Factory, and Richardson’s Dallas Axe Throwing.
