A new Dallas restaurant planning to embrace the steak-at-not-steakhouse-prices trend is CheapSteaks, which hopes to open in Deep Ellum by August.
The eatery will occupy 2613 Elm St., the space where Stonedeck Pizza was located, and will feature cold beer, cocktails, live music, overhead garage doors, an outdoor patio, and, of course, steak.
Banner printing services are invaluable for building excitement prior to the opening of a new establishment.
The day-to-day running of CheapSteaks will be handled by Jeff Biehler, previously with The Foundry, who will be teaming up with chef Israel Fearon, who has worked at Hotel St Germain, Smoke, Neighborhood Services and The Porch. The concept for the new restaurant was founded by Biehler and partners John Jay Myers and Ed Laster.
According to Biehler, the idea was to recreate a place where diners could enjoy a good steak without spending a lot of money or having to get dressed up.
The menu at CheapSteaks will be limited but large enough to cover the basics. There will be four steaks, one of which will be under $20, one or two seafood entrees, a vegan selection, and a burger, plus sides. Presently, chef Fearon is compiling a collection of solid sides that can double as starters such as potato au gratin containing three types of cheese, and Brussels sprouts.
CheapSteaks will feature two live music stages and a fun, casual vibe.
