Among the events in Dallas that celebrate art, the annual Deep Ellum Arts Festival stands out for its 25 years of recognizing and celebrating local artists.
The festival will feature more than 100 bands, all performing their own original compositions, spread among four stages. Numerous vendors will be on hand selling a variety of snack-like food.
Participating artist will run the gamut of painters, sculptors, and muralists. Additionally, there will be those who will create their art while at the festival, among which will be body painters blending their artwork into a backdrop of murals. Food choices ranging from breakfast items to the ever popular BBQ, tacos, and tamales, as well as dessert items, will be available.
Some annual events such as county fairs or festivals select a new Logo Design each year. A contest to select the new logo to represent the event is generally open to the public and held months in advance.
It is recommended that those who attend the six-block festival use the DART system or an Uber, as parking will be in short supply. The three-day festival is being held at 2900 Main Street from April 5-7 and admission is free each day. The first two days, Friday and Saturday, the festival’s hours of operation will be 11:00 am to 11:00 pm. Sunday hours will be 11:00 am to 8:00 pm.
