Calling itself the ‘World’s Only Mindful Triathlon’, Wanderlust 108 brings together a combination of triathlon events designed to celebrate healthy living.
Unlike usual triathlons, the Wanderlust 108 will feature a 5K run/walk, a yoga session outdoors, followed by a guided meditation. The ‘race’ is phase 1 of the triathlon and takes place 9 am to 10:30 pm. Phase 2 – the yoga – starts at 11:00 am and continues until 12:30 pm. Guided meditation closes the triathlon, taking place from 12:30 pm to 1:00 pm.
The 5K can be individualized to the participant’s preference; they can take it easy or go all out as they walk or run to the finish line. Next is yoga the Wanderlust way, with a DJ providing background music. Well-known spiritual leaders are to lead the guided 30 minutes of meditation, according to publicity put out for the event.
Triathlon participants are encouraged to allow plenty of time to check-in, get their bib and arrange their yoga mat for phase 2 before the 5K starts. Crafts and healthy-living related vendors will be on hand showing off their wares and passing out Business Cards. One scheduled activity is included in the ticket price, with advance signup to reserve a spot a necessity.
Wanderlust 108 takes place on April 15 and runs 7:30 am to 3:30 pm on the Lawn at Reunion Tower. Each 108 ticket generates a donation of $1.08 from Wanderlust to No Kid Hungry.
