Frost Bank, and the Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas (FHLB Dallas) recently announced they were awarding funds from their Partnership Grant Program (PGP) in the amount of $10,000 to Habitat for Humanity Texas (HFHTX).
The grant for HFHTX will help support 83 local affiliates by hiring a fundraising consultant to assist with the organization’s annual conference, The Lone Star Summit. Local affiliates are sometimes overwhelmed by the challenges of networking, and a fundraising consultant can assist affiliates in connecting with their various stakeholders throughout the year and at upcoming conferences.
Started in 2005, HFHTX serves as an advocate for the state’s local Habitat affiliates in addition to providing them with resource development and technical support. The affiliates are continually in need of monetary assistance and material donations as well as community members to help with construction. Among the marketing options available to them is newsletter printing, which can be used to keep the community informed of an affiliate’s activities and thereby garner support.
The check was ceremoniously presented to the HFHTX Executive Director, on August 9 at the 2016 Summit in San Marcos. It is the third such grant the nonprofit has received from FHLB Dallas and member Frost Bank since 2007. PCP grants are awarded each year via a lottery system. Member institutions, such as Frost Bank contribute to a community-based organization $500-$4,000, which FHLB Dallas matches in a 3:1 ratio.
