A Seattle concept geared toward motorheads, called The Shop, is coming to Dallas.
The Shop will offer its members an area to work on their vehicles and hangout with others that share their enthusiasm for cars and motorcycles. Set up as a private social club the new-to-Dallas venture will be located at 9100 John Carpenter Fwy., less than 10 miles from Deep Ellum.
The original Shop was started in 2017 in Seattle by Matt Bell, who wished to create a space for those who love cars and motorcycles to work on them. A former parts warehouse here in Dallas at the I-35 - 114 split is the site for what will become the company’s second location. Dallas was selected due to its avid car culture.
A banner printing service is frequently used to make it easier for people to find and identify a new establishment.
The Dallas location has been a work in progress since 2019. A soft opening is planned for some time in April. Among the perks that may be available at The Shop in Dallas are equipment, tools and mechanics as well as a lounge with pool tables.
The price to belong is an initiation fee, in Seattle $500, plus a membership fee of about $150 a month. Those wishing to keep their car at the climate controlled, secure facility will pay an additional $200 per month per car. For motorcycles the additional fee is $100 each.
