Spearheading the project is the Deep Ellum Foundation, its executive director, Stephanie Keller Hudiburg, explained the highlights of the proposed trail saying:
“Somebody might be able to commute along this trail from South Dallas into Deep Ellum or downtown. In addition to a tourist from out of town being able to travel it for recreational purposes.”
The Dallas Arts District and Fair Park First are collaborating with the Deep Ellum Foundation on making the Cultural Trail a reality.
Brochure printing services can be used to place an artist's rendering of an upcoming project, once the design has been finalized, into the public’s hands.
The Cultural Trail will link South Dallas, Deep Ellum and the Dallas Arts District which are now separated by I-345 and I-30 and will work with the DART Fantastic Places Project and the Dallas Bike Plan. The Trail is just one aspect of the city’s larger infrastructure plan for making Dallas a more walkable municipality and was put into play in 2018.
Proponents of the trail envision it as pedestrian friendly with ample crosswalks art installations and bike lanes. Construction of the trail is anticipated to commence sometime within the next five years.
