Young Dallas entrepreneur launches new food app

A Dallas student-entrepreneur has designed a startup to direct the attention of local food influencers to independently owned restaurants.

Foodify is, according to founder Anisha Holla, a "modern day dating app for restaurants and influencers." A part-time food writer, she came up with the idea after seeing how her articles and social media posts benefited up-and-coming restaurants. Holla provides a subscription service with prices beginning at $500 per month for restaurants.

Flyer printing services can offer new businesses an inexpensive marketing option.

Although influencers have played a significant role in restaurant marketing, Holla’s idea is to create an enterprise that serves as a go-between for restaurateurs and influencers. She explained this by saying:
“At the end of the day, influencers are part of our extended team. I personally interview each of them. Everyone on the team is passionate about helping small business. They are here for the right reasons."

In the six months of its existence, Foodify has collected 25 restaurants as clients, with 180 social media posts being created for them. The results include logging social media impressions amounting to approximately 56 billion and as much as sales increases of 150 percent.

Holla hopes to grow Foodify into a full-time occupation, and with a recent investment from EO Dallas, an entrepreneurial organization, is looking to expand into other cities including New York and San Francisco.
