New Italian-like restaurant latest from restaurateur pair
Restauranteurs Lynae Fearing and Tracy Moore Rathburn’s new restaurant, called Dea, is scheduled to open in the space formerly occupied by Fireside Pies in Dallas.
Fireside Pies, situated at 7709 Inwood Road, was next door to Shinsei, one of the team’s other restaurants. Rathburn explained the reasoning behind the location for their latest venture to Culture Map Dallas:
Logo design is always an essential part of creating any new business.
Dea is Italian for “goddess”, and its menu will center on Italian cuisine with modern versions of traditional dishes such as osso buco and in-house made pasta. Plus, since the property comes with a wood-fired oven left from the previous owner, flatbreads and other dishes that work well with that cooking method will be incorporated into the menu when it opens this summer.
Fearing and Rathburn have commissioned a mural by Alli Kock for the outside of the building, which they hope will be an attention-getter. The duo gave the artist a simple brief that it must include the new restaurant’s name, the meaning of the name, and that its owners were two woman.

"We've always had our eye on the space, and when it became available, we felt like we had to — only because if we didn't, someone else would. But we also felt like there would be an opportunity for great synergy between three restaurants.”
