Dallas ranked among top 10 most diverse U.S. large cities

The results of a new survey has placed Dallas in the top 10 most diverse large cities in the country.

Ranking cities by population, the survey, titled Most Diverse Cities in the U.S., compared large, midsize and small cities with the population being: over 300,000 people, 100,000 to 300,000 and less than 100,000 residents respectively.

In the comparison of 501 cities, factors such as religion, age, income, and marital status were weighed, with Dallas coming in as No. 6 among the most diverse in the large city category.

The Lone Star State did well in the large city category, with Arlington taking the top spot, followed by Houston at No.2, Dallas at No.6 and Fort Worth coming in at No.12.

A separate list ranked cities without taking their size into account and on that list, Dallas was the 11th most diverse.

On the all-encompassing list, the top three cities for diversity were all in Maryland (Gaithersburg, Silver Spring, and Germantown, in that order), with Arlington and Houston taking up the 4th and 5th spots respectively. Dallas’ sister city, Fort Worth, placed an overall rating of No.25.
