Dallas and suburbs high on best list for startups

Dallas, along with some of its suburbs have fared well on WalletHub’s list of best places to start a large business, and one of the small cities near the Big D, Farmers Branch has done particularly well.

Although Austin gets the most attention, Dallas deserves some consideration and one of its suburbs has ranked particularly well in the small city category of “Best Business Start-up Cities.” Out of 1,300 cities with populations of 25,000 to 100,000, Farmers Branch was ranked by WalletHub as No. 102 nationwide and No. 2 in the state of Texas.

Chambers of commerce use Print shops to promote favorable results from this type of report.

WalletHub compared the small cities for their business-friendly nature weighing their labor costs, average increase in the number of businesses, and investor access. Farmer’s Branch did especially well in in the “business environment” category.

According to WalletHub:

“Size matters when choosing a city in which to launch a startup. A city with a smaller population can offer a greater chance of success, depending on an entrepreneur’s type of business and personal preferences.”

Dallas came in at No.20 and Fort Worth at No.15 in the “Best Large Cities to Start a Business” report. Other large cities in the DFW metroplex and Dallas suburbs performed well, including Plano at No.66, Garland at No. 61, Irving coming in at No. 30 and, Arlington in the 24th spot.
